It has been a long 3 months since the COVID-19 pandemic affected us all here in Dubai. As a sports academy, the restrictions halted ALL of our Football and Swimming coaching sessions, and we have of course, all been restricted to our homes for a prolonged period of time, experiencing a new way of living.
Restrictions are now easing, with restaurants and business re-opening, beaches and swimming pools starting to gradually open, and for more specifically for us at Elite Sports Academy, sport is able to be played, with coaching sessions able to resume. We have been busy at work behind the scenes planning for the new academic year in September, but this welcomed news allowed us to get back on the coaching pitch and deliver football coaching sessions from Sunday 31st May 2020.
Last week saw the resumption of Elite Sports Academy’s Football Coaching Sessions for children AGED 12 YEARS AND ABOVE. In line with Government directives and Dubai Sports Council approval, we have recommenced our coaching sessions at Arabian Ranches Golf Club and United Pro Sports Football Centre, and we have had a great response from our players. As one of the leading Football Academies in the UAE for kids, we have taken all necessary precautions to ensure children’s safety during sessions, as such the following rules / procedures will be in place at ALL sessions.
- Social distancing – 2M spaces between participants
- A maximum of 4 participants per section
- Masks to be worn by all participants, parents and staff (Can be lowered during strenuous exercise)
- Sanitizer will also be provided at the venues
- Temperature checks for all participants/coaches
- Sanitization of equipment before and after use
Our football coaching at this time, despite smaller groups, has included all elements of our regular sessions, including ball mastery, passing & combination play, shooting & finishing, SAQ activities and Fitness based drills.
We are in constant communication with the Sports Council regarding updates to the regulations, and hope to be able to offer holiday sports camps in Dubai when the summer period arrives, and with swimming pools anticipated to re-open this week, our Swimming coaching sessions for children also.
